Preparing for Awaab’s Law – practical things to get on and do
Earlier this year, the previous government consulted on its proposals to introduce ‘Awaab’s Law’ which will introduce strict timelines for responding to potential hazards in customers’ homes. Angela Rayner committed the new government to introduce the legislation for Awaab’s Law in autumn 2024.
Join this webinar to learn from Rochdale Boroughwide Housing about their work to tackle damp, mould and condensation in their homes ahead of the new legislation being introduced. The session will discuss measures that have been put in place to proactively prevent hazards in the home from an asset management perspective. There will also be details of the work RBH are doing to tackle hazards from a housing management perspective through the ‘understanding our customers’ project ahead of the new legislation being introduced.
What the session will cover
· Key points from the proposals around Awaab’s Law
· Adapting property services to meet the proposed requirements
· How housing management services can reduce non-property related hazards
