About the session:

As expectations around leadership behaviour, accountability and performance continue to sharpen across social housing especially in light of the new conduct and competency standards, many leaders are reflecting on how their culture really works under pressure. In this session, Tom will explore what genuine accountability looks and feels like in modern organisations, and why so many leadership cultures drift into performance theatre.

Drawing on psychology, behavioural science and real organisational examples, Tom will help future CEOs think differently about how trust, clarity and ownership are built day to day, in ways that naturally stand up to scrutiny without becoming process heavy or fear driven.

What Tom will cover:

• What healthy accountability looks like in practice, beyond process and compliance.

• How leaders unintentionally create performance theatre, and how to avoid it.

• The behavioural and psychological foundations of trust, ownership and follow through.

• Practical leadership behaviours that create clarity and cultural consistency.

• Real examples from Tom’s work at The Pathway Academy and beyond.

• Tools for embedding accountability without fear, pressure stacking or micromanagement.
