Multi generational workplaces - we need to talk about Gen Z
Welcome to our Masterclass on developing positive intergenerational work places.
For the first time in history, up to five generations are working side by side. This is possibly the biggest piece of the whole inclusion, diversity & equity conversation that – for many - is still invisible in plain sight. We all have a role to play in determining if the multi-generational workplace feels happy and productive, or challenging and stressful.
It's not that we don't know that the approach and attitude to work of different generations is more starkly diverse than ever before ... its what to do about it that is newer territory. In today's global landscape, attracting the best talent and developing skills and culture for the future is a strategic must. Leaders need new skills to drive this forward and the multi generational element of this is a factor many are calling out as challenging. Join us as we put the spotlight on how some organisations are working with their gen Z colleagues alongside other generations to create work places that maximise the value of what all generations bring. We will explore actionable strategies and approaches organisations in and out of the sector are adopting to build effective multi generational work places led by Sara Cook from Volunteering Matters.
What the session will cover
- Why focussing on intergenerational relationships at work really matters
- What is influencing this area of cultural development
- Some of the most prevalent ‘fault lines’ across intergenerational working, where colleagues of different generations bring differences of opinion or outlook which cause organisational friction
- How we can shape better approaches to intergenerational collaboration (overcoming these ‘fault lines’) - and what are the right conditions for success
- Who’s leading the way and what are they doing - real examples of focus in practice
