May Contain Lies – In conversation with Prof Alex Edmans
A unique opportunity for DIN CEOs to meet and hear from one of the best speakers on leadership, purpose and the social responsibilities of business, Prof Alex Edmans
In this exclusive session for DIN Connected CEOs we will chat with Alex about his latest book 'May contain lies' and what housing leaders can learn from it.
In an age when CEOs are feeling more and more pressured to come up with answers to really tricky problems, whilst trying to manage numerous often competing agendas, our time with Alex will genuinely give you some fresh perspectives and new insights on how to achieve this.
Amongst some of the areas we expect to cover will be key themes including:
- Exploitation of Biases: how stories, statistics, and studies exploit our psychological biases, such as confirmation bias and black-and-white thinking, leading us to accept misinformation.
- Impact of Misinformation: the pervasive role of dishonesty in contemporary society and how it affects personal and professional spheres.
- Critical Thinking: the importance of critical thinking and practical strategies to distinguish between fact and fiction, helping readers make better decisions.
- Real-World Examples: examples, such as the Deepwater Horizon disaster and misleading diets, to illustrate how misinformation can have significant consequences.
- Combating Misinformation: How to combat misinformation by understanding the relationships between statistics and the science of cause and effect.
Who should attend?
This session is exclusively for DIN Connected CEOs.
