Let’s Try and Avoid an “Udder Disaster”…
Session overview
Cyber security is everyone’s responsibility, but does everyone in your organisation really understand the risk?
Cyber threats continue to grow in scale, sophistication and impact. For social landlords, the consequences can extend far beyond IT — disrupting services, affecting residents, damaging trust and creating significant financial and reputational risk.
That makes cyber resilience a Board and leadership issue, not simply a technology one.
But how do you take a subject that can feel highly technical and make it meaningful, engaging and relevant for senior leaders and colleagues across an organisation?
We are pleased to partner with Waterstons to give DIN members the opportunity to experience a very different approach to cyber awareness through their innovative cyber-themed board game, Udder Disaster.
This scenario-based game brings cyber security to life by putting participants into the middle of a developing incident. Teams will need to assess risks, make decisions, respond to changing circumstances and deal with the wider business consequences of a cyber attack.
It is a fun and engaging format, but with a serious purpose.
One of the biggest challenges with cyber security is ensuring that understanding extends beyond the technical teams responsible for protecting systems. Boards, executives, managers and colleagues all have a role to play in creating a cyber-resilient organisation.
Udder Disaster provides a practical way to start those conversations, challenge assumptions and help leaders understand what a real cyber incident could mean for their organisation.
Waterstons’ cyber experts will also provide a brief update on the latest cyber trends and be available for questions throughout the session.

Who should attend?
You do not need to be a cyber or technology specialist to attend. In fact, that is part of the point.
This session is aimed at:
- Board members
- Executives and senior leaders
- Digital and technology teams
- Risk and governance professionals
- Anyone responsible for improving cyber awareness and resilience across their organisation
Strong technical controls remain essential, but technology alone cannot protect an organisation.
People need to recognise threats. Leaders need to understand the decisions they may have to make. Boards need to ask the right questions. And organisations need a culture where cyber security is understood as part of everyone’s role.
If your people do not understand the threat, how can they help protect the organisation from it?
