Most of you working in social housing, and most likely beyond, will be familiar with the tragedy resulting in the little boy Awaab Ishak losing his life with the damp and mould in his home being a major contributory factor.

With the introduction of Awaab's law coming into force there are implications for all landlords and preparations need to begin now to ensure you are ready for it.

Nadhia Khan works for RBH and attended every day of the inquest and has a unique perspective on what went wrong, why and what other landlords need to be alert to in order to avoid something like this happening ever again.

In this session we will cover:

  • What happened?
  • The issues leading up to service failures and the processes that allowed them to happen.
  • Communications - what was the nature of the communications and why was this such an important element in the failure?
  • People and culture - what role did the organisations people and culture play and what are the leadership and management lessons?
  • Systems - why did the different IT and workflows not integrate effectively to ensure opportunities to solve the problems were not missed?

The session is FREE for DIN members to attend.
