Inside the Silicon Valley Future Machine
Session overview
What does the AI revolution mean for you? How should you use it? And how do you make sure you are not left behind?
In this session, Danny Fortson, West Coast Tech Correspondent at The Sunday Times, will take us inside the Silicon Valley “future machine” to explore some of the biggest shifts happening in AI right now and what they could mean for organisations, leaders and the workforce.
From the rise of personal AI agents to the rapid growth of cheaper open-source models, Danny will examine how quickly the landscape is changing and what businesses should be paying attention to next.
The session will explore:
- The dawn of the digital butler – personal AI agents such as Instinct and Muse are beginning to emerge. What could this mean for the way we work and organise our lives?
- Crossing the Rubicon – the number of AI agents online has now passed the number of humans. What could that mean for your business, your workforce and the way work gets done?
- Is there an AI bubble? – and if there is, should organisations actually care?
- The revolution inside AI – how open-source models have rapidly grown in prominence, offering powerful AI systems at a fraction of the cost of the frontier labs
- Education and training – how institutions are rethinking how they prepare young people for a world where machines can increasingly perform work traditionally given to first-year graduates
