From Now to Next– How to make real change happen with Elizabeth Froude
So you’ve worked really hard to sort out the basics and get your team or organisation out of the immediate crisis and steadied the ship which is great. But as a leader you know this is only a temporary position and unless you can turn your vision into reality and get everyone on board and moving in the right direction quickly the crisis could easily return.
This is a position we are increasingly coming across at DIN whereby the foundations are in place, the plan has been agreed but the pace of implementation is glacial and frustrating for everyone involved.
This new 3 part series is designed to get behind the reasons why teams and organisations get stuck and what you need to do to get things moving.
Three CEOs, each with their own story of driving change will share their insights and answer the tricky questions and often difficult decisions they have had to take to deliver their vision.
Areas we will look to cover include:
· Changing your current operating model – even though things are working well to thrive in the future you need to build something new so how do you do this?
· Creating the necessary vision – How do curate the narrative and stories about the reason for change, especially if all your current indicators are in the green?
· Overcoming corporate antibodies – Often one of the biggest challenges we hear from leaders is how do you deal with the dissenters and the blockers who slow or could derail the move to next.
· Rebalancing the skills - what got you to where you are may not be what you need to get you where you want to go. The skills required for steadying the ship are unlikely to be the ones you need to get to your next destination so how do you deal with this in the right way? If you can’t change the people, how do you change the people whilst remaining loyal to them?
· Managing the risks - things inevitably go wrong when you are on such a journey so how do you prepare for or deal with these incidents
· And no doubt quite a few more issues as well.
