What happens after you've fixed the foundations and need to move the business onto its next stage? Running throughout the year, this series features CEOs walking you through practical examples of how they’re driving forward their organisations.
Welcome to DIN’s all inclusive 2026 offer!
Our 2026 DIN programme is designed to help organisations shift focus, strategy and mindset to prepare to meet future challenges; moving from fixing the past to shaping the future.
This year, it’s our biggest offer ever. Not only that; we’ve built on everything our members value most and packed in even more, making this our best value offer yet.
Just like an all-inclusive holiday, you will have access to everything*, including prime content, insights, leaders and experiences, with many exceptional examples from outside the sector.
With one membership fee, everyone in your organisation is a member, so you can really make the most of your investment by making sure everyone can access our events, experiences, learning and resources.
*Except for a small number of DIN events where a fee will apply but DIN members will benefit from an exclusive discount.
Our enhanced offer is packed with fresh opportunities, deeper insights and practical solutions that speak directly to the challenges you face today in the evolving social housing landscape.
In 2026, the pressure on organisations remains high, with regulation, compliance and standards continuing to demand attention.
Yet DIN can help you move beyond remediation, to focus on proactive investment in homes, services and communities, focusing less on firefighting and more on long-term planning, resilience and innovation.
Vitally, this year our programme has even more of a focus on prioritising the often-forgotten customer and putting them back in the driving seat of providing better homes and services, as well as ensuring leaders have the future skills needed to do just that.
We’re also introducing some vital new elements and sharpening our focus, giving members more relevance, more value and more ways to access the tools, networks and know-how you need to succeed.
With access to world-class leaders in their fields, from futurists and economic experts, to AI and techsperts, read on to find out just what you get for your 2026 membership fee - and why it’s most definitely worth the investment.
What makes DIN different?
We believe the DIN offer is unique in the social housing sector. Yes, you will find content around your everyday housing operations, but our belief and mission is that housing doesn't exist in isolation. It’s a critical part of the wider service sector, so your focus and thinking has to be more outward-looking.
We're interested in taking long standing challenges and looking at them through a different lens to see if we can solve them in better, more innovative ways. Or taking existing solutions and seeing if they can be applied to other problems.
From world-class expertise to practical tools and collaborative spaces that are accessible to everyone in your organisation, we give you what you need to succeed and thrive.
Our guarantee is that our contributors deliver genuine, authentic insights. No corporate fluff, just real substance.
How do we do it? Through four dedicated channels:
- Leadership
- People and culture
- Digital and data
- Property
These streams are designed to strengthen your organisation’s ability to adapt, lead and thrive in the face of constant change.
We continue to exist to help you look ahead and stay prepared. But how we deliver that value keeps evolving, so we can help you navigate disruption and change with confidence.
Current challenges for the sector
The housing sector is at a crossroads. While the regulators have become the drivers of organisational activity, tenants are often no longer placed front and centre.
At DIN, we believe in challenging the status quo and asking the question: is this good enough?
Every pound spent should be improving lives. Making a positive difference to people in their homes.
Yet in an environment of tightening budgets, organisations need more than good intentions; they need the tools, insights and confidence to innovate and do things differently.
That’s why our offer for 2026 focuses back in on the customer and how to grow and develop the leaders to put tenant needs and expectations back in the driving seat and shape the housing sector of the future.
This means there’s also a need to reposition culture and skills, equipping leaders with the skills to think differently and respond to changing resident needs and build organisational cultures that are forward-looking, agile and resilient.
NEW for 2026 – the highlights
The walking dead - slaying housing's zombies
In 2026 we’re tackling the ‘walking dead exhibits’ of housing practice head-on to help you let go of the past and embrace more meaningful, future-focused methods and measures. We’ll debunk some of the myths about how we lead and manage, starting with the myth of customer feedback, KPIs and managing performance.
Welfare, poverty and housing conditions
In a series of sessions, Tom Calver, Data Editor from the Sunday Times, dives into the geographic spread of inequality, how’s it’s changed and what causes it, as well as studying the condition of social housing stock, how it's changed and the problems with gathering data on homes.
Real stories, tools and techniques for creating cultures where people take ownership and lead with purpose. From how you start, to building individual and organisational capability.
Events and activities using practical examples, to show how to successfully implement tech and data changes and improvements within your business.
AI – making it happen in housing
Highlights include:
- Housing AI forum, chaired by Jon Cocker, Chief Information Officer at Platform Housing Group
- AI pulse survey, to understand how organisations are using AI, who is using it, the results and the difference it is making, with results shared twice a year
- Member showcases where you can learn from the trailblazers
- Capability sessions supporting you in developing the skills you need to maximise AI
- Our 'In the blink of AI' in-person conference
- Webinars with a diverse range of expert speakers
- Recorded DINCasts with AI leaders and practitioners
Delivered by Rob Rowlands, Curator of Curiosity and Paul Taylor, Innovation Coach at Bromford, Curiosity to Clarity is a three-part interactive series designed to challenge entrenched thinking and improve the way research is used across housing. The forum helps organisations move from drowning in data to making rapid, evidence-informed decisions.
Participants will learn how to:
- Make quick, evidence-informed decisions (the 30-minute decision)
- Turn research into compelling narratives that influence boards and stakeholders
- Use micro-insights and lived experience to evaluate projects effectively
With peer learning spaces on WhatsApp and LinkedIn, plus guest speakers from beyond housing, the forum embeds skills that leaders and practitioners can use immediately.
Too often, service design is treated as a passing trend. DIN’s service design forum makes it practical, interactive and directly relevant to housing.
Through three virtual sessions delivered by Leanne James, Head of Service Design and Change at Southern Housing, members will:
- Understand service design basics and apply them to tenant journeys
- Use practical tools like journey maps and service blueprints to redesign services
- Embed service design thinking in organisational culture, governance and leadership
This is about making service design stick; turning user-centred design into everyday practice, not a buzzword.
Delivered by Anthony Collins, these sessions will spark fresh, practical ideas that reshape how the legal side of the social housing sector works, exploring how technology, new ways of working and smart collaboration can make legal services more efficient, resilient and genuinely helpful. By co-creating events and discussions, this series will help the sector get ahead of change, not be left catching up.
-
Annual conference – Co-Creating the Future - A mix of talks, panels and workshops featuring futurists, legal pioneers and sector experts, with live idea sharing and a follow-up insight report.

AI – making it happen in housing
Artificial Intelligence is no longer a distant promise; it’s here to stay, advancing at pace and rapidly integrating into our everyday lives.
With the power to transform the social housing sector, ignoring AI is no longer an option and embracing it is essential. That’s why it’s our overarching theme for 2026, covering each of our four delivery channels.
Upskilling in this vital area can help you harness its potential and navigate its pitfalls, to solve long-standing challenges, drive efficiencies and cost savings – and ultimately improve the overall quality of life for your tenants.
Bringing together members, AI experts, innovators and specialists from inside and outside the sector, we’ll explore the power of AI in delivering solutions for social housing, across each of our four channels of leadership, people and culture, digital and data and property.
From government and regulatory voices to housing leaders and colleagues using AI successfully, to data scientists shaping housing policy with machine learning, we cover the theoretical to the practical, including:
- Understanding AI - the basics you need to know, the ethics and what you need to consider
- What AI does well - and what it might not
- What’s out there - understanding the AI product market
- Training AI - how to use your own housing data
- The impact of AI - on your operations and workforce – and how to measure AI impact, not value
- Tenant experience - how AI can be used to its best advantage for residents
- Organisational culture - how AI will change your culture - and L&D programmes for AI
- Upskilling - a new educational programme available to all members, delivered by our partner Uptake AI

DIN’s leadership channel exists to help you look further ahead, sharpen your skills and think about strategy, mindset, innovation, behaviours and choices that not only shape the direction of your organisation, but the sector as a whole.
This channel is designed for anyone in a leadership role, whether you are a CEO or executive leader preparing for the future, a future leader wanting to step up to the top job, or someone eager to evolve and grow in their current leadership position.
The challenges leaders face today are considerable. Leaders must ensure their organisations meet regulatory standards, while pivoting to the future and setting a clear vision for what great looks like for residents and communities in the future.
While there are immediate issues, leaders need to carve out time, resources and energy to get future-ready, ensuring resident voices are embedded in governance and service design, so the future is genuinely co-created.

People and culture continue to be the driving forces of organisational success. We bring expert input, peer learning and practical tools through events and experiences, to help you develop the leaders, teams and cultures you’ll need next – and support those you already have, to adapt, grow and thrive.
Whether you're leading at the top or managing day-to-day delivery across people services, this channel is designed for you. We cover everything from leadership and talent development to agile resourcing, inclusion, cultural change and learning.
If you're looking to move from consumption to citizenship, from process to purpose and from traditional models to agile, adaptable ways of working, we’re here to support you.
Organisations are under pressure to build cultures where accountability, purpose and adaptability aren’t just values on paper but lived every day, while keeping human relationships and connection at the centre of it all.
The challenge is complex: creating truly inclusive, multi-generational workplaces where people feel they belong; introducing agile ways of working that balance organisational needs with individual wellbeing; and redefining what leadership means in a world driven by AI, data and digital technology.
At the same time, the demand for new skills and talent is accelerating. The risk is focusing only on the urgent and neglecting the longer-term development needed to thrive in a fast-changing environment.
Cultural transformation is tough, but it’s also essential. This channel exists to help leaders and teams face into that challenge; practically, collaboratively and with the insight of peers who are navigating the same journey, as well as those successfully meeting it from outside the sector.
- Accountable leadership at every level – frameworks that empower leaders to own decisions and drive change.

- Learning that never stands still – guidance for building flexible, adaptive learning cultures.

Our digital and data channel delivery partners for 2026:

Whether you want to boost your digital confidence, keep pace with emerging trends, lead on technology and data strategy or solve the issues happening right now, you’ll find the ideas, guidance, peer learning and out-of-sector insight to help you succeed.
Budgets, time and people resources continue to be squeezed and are now tighter than ever before and there’s a real need to balance insight and innovation with the practical advice and solutions to help solve today’s problems.
There's a constant push to deliver tangible value and a clear return on investment from technology; a pressure amplified by the rapid pace of technological advancement.
Many organisations are still dealing with legacy systems, while the sheer volume of new tech and software options is overwhelming, making it harder to decide what to invest in. With less time for trials and pilot programs, there’s an increased risk associated with every decision.

Property

In 2026, the challenge goes beyond compliance, with a need to harness technology to understand and manage homes more effectively, meet continuously changing legislation, think differently about operating models and asset information and embed culture change to always keep the benefit to the resident at the heart of your thinking.
At the same time, the drive towards sustainability is accelerating; delivering high-performing, low-carbon homes and adopting innovative retrofit solutions. AI is now a vital part of this mix, opening new possibilities for smarter decision-making and service delivery.
