DINLab briefing event: Smart Locks and Mobile keys for Communal Doors and Voids

Technology for opening and starting cars has meant that for many, traditional keys are now a thing of the past. Yet we still rely on them to secure our homes. So we have designed this DINLab, a 12 week discovery programme (starting June 2022) to explore the potential for smart locks and mobile keys for communal doors and void properties.

We know that access management of void properties and communal areas consumes a lot of time along with eating into limited resources with key safes, additional fobs and keys cut. We want to explore how this smart technology could benefit tenants and housing providers and where smart locks work best.

Sign up for this briefing session to find about this DINLab where we will test:

    • If smart locks can minimise delays between tenancies on void properties
    • Test how tenants and housing providers adapt to using mobile keys
    • Whether tenant behaviour changes in how they open doors during the DINLab
Understand how often keys are shared e.g access on a void, access to communal areas, entrance into a home
    • Each housing provider will have smart locks fitted to two low or high-rise apartment communal entrances (and include non-tenant areas such as electrical cupboards, cleaner cupboards etc) and a minimum of five void properties (either apartments or houses).

So if you want to know more about what this experiment will involve, the method, the resources and the cost then please reserve your place and we will do our best to answer your questions and see if this is the right approach for your organisation.
